Your computer account will automatically lock itself out after 3 bad password attempts within any City application or computer. (TrakiT, Email, New World, Horizon, etc..)

Accounts automatically unlock after 15 minutes.

If your account has been locked out between 8a and 5p (Mon-Fri) Please call x1800
Tips to reduce lockouts
  • When typing in your password; don't use the NumPad
  • Instead, use the number row directly above the letters. This prevents 'NumLock' from being the cause of numbers not getting entered in as you type your password.
  • When you change your password make sure you completely log out of your system and then log back in with your new one.
  • Update any stored passwords you might have in your browser(s). Google, Internet Explorer, and Firefox will store your previous passwords until you manually update them with your new one.
  • You'll need to update your password for any WiFi Connections you might have on your iPad/iPhone. It's recommended to 'Forget' the WiFi Network and re-join it with your new password. Forgetting to update your password for your WiFi Connections is a high percentage of accounts being locked out.
  • Make sure the Mail/Outlook App on your iPad/iPhone updated with your new password. You should get an onscreen prompt asking for your "Exchange Password" which will be your new computer password.
  • Check your Jabber Client to see if it's attempting to log in when you startup. If you see any 'Red Banners' then it could mean that your Jabber information is outdated. Click on the 'Gear' -> Options (or File -> Options depending on your version) -> Accounts -> Put in your username/password information -> Apply/OK. The red banners should now clear out and stop potentially locking you out.
Things to watch out for
  • If you attempt to log into a system but immediately get locked out after one, or two, attempts then it's highly likely that you have a device (or software) with an old password that's attempting to connect with an old password.
  • If your account is getting locked out; take a moment to think about what systems your account logs into, and then check and verify they're using the new password.
